The story so far …
In 2024, I wanted to get my book of printed, it was prose about elements and love, so I contacted a book printer. That printer was old man Francis from FC Productions. We met and had good chemistry, he offered to give me what’s left of the business and I impulsively agreed. After half a year, I’ve come to realise that the most valuable thing Francis gave me was his faith in me.
All jokes aside, there is truth to the saying “when the student is ready, the master appears”.
It took me some time to be ready. I grew up walking to and from Carlingford Court, and after university I was set to become a yuppie. But luckily I decided to travel along the Silk road. I was inspired by the people I’ve met to sing and to make things and dare to create social renewal. There are many different ways to live life and it cannot be just about the money.
It has been a chaotic but totally enjoyable journey so far, learning about materials and processes, meeting all the characters out there, and fixing printing disasters . The real problem is that the cost of living in Sydney is unconscionable, especially the cost of spaces.
I am thankful for the support and patronage I have received along the way.
The girls at Three Edge Framing for placing the first order. Alice Mantel for letting me print your book with no experience. Maria Lamari and Sam Perri for your kind advice and encouragement. The team at MyHomeWare for your continuing support. The boys at AquaJoy for taking a chance on me with labels. Soon Lee Lim for reminding me to walk in nature. The Rotary Club of Carlingford for your trust. Dean Tirkot for you advice on art and business. Venus Automation and Everfloor for your friendship and support. Jennifer Burns for your kind words and encouragement. Francis for your advice and guidance.
The year ahead
In 2025 there will be more exciting to come. I will be mastering the craft and collecting more tools and materials. Hopefully writing more but more importantly not going bankrupt.
Thank you for reading and I look forward to meeting you (again) by chance or appointment.
